Go-Mann Adventures is owned and run by Andrew Foxon. Share his passion for the outdoors.

Q. What makes a great day out for me?

A. Walking the paths and tracks of the Isle of Man in good company and enjoying that adventure together.
We choose part of the Raad ny Foillan, the Island’s coastal footpath, or a moorland walk or head through one of the Island’s glens. As we walk, we share our stories. We see birds, plants and marine life, explore the history, heritage, folklore and stories of the places we visit. We sample some of the local food and drink.

Walking together and exploring the countryside refreshes the body, the mind and the spirit.
Let me join you on your adventure in the Isle of Man.

• Lived on the Isle of Man since 1997 but visited on holiday for a few years before that and fell in love with the Island!

• Trained as an archaeologist and heritage professional, mainly working with museums and heritage agencies to learn about, care for and interpret the world around us. Educational background includes a degree in archaeology and a doctorate in prehistoric technology.

• Explored the hills and coast wherever I have lived and worked: Central Scotland, Orkney, Yorkshire and now the Isle of Man. But it’s not just the ancient heritage that interests me. Wildlife, geology, folklore, social history, the stories of the land and the sea: all are woven together to make the varying fabric of the Island, so there’s something to interest everyone.

• Qualified Hill & Moorland leader through Mountain Training (the award was known as Walking Group Leader when I qualified in 2013).

• Qualified Isle of Man Blue Badge Guide through the Guild of Manx Registered Tour Guides in 2013.

• Qualifications, business insurance, risk assessments, DBS checks and Mountain First Aid certification mean you’ll be well looked after with Go-Mann Adventures.

• In my spare time I continue to explore Isle of Man; am Deputy Commandant of Isle of Man Civil Defence, providing some of their map reading, navigation and hill search training; act as Programme Manager for Tour Guide training on the Isle of Man; and help run a range of events and activities on the Island – e.g. the Walk the Isle of Man event, Praying the Keeills week and Pilgrimage Isle of Man.
