St Michael’s Isle–Fort Island

We meet at Hango Hill and begin with a look at this site of burials, execution and feasting! We follow the coast by King William’s College and Ronaldsway airport to Derbyhaven, then past the lime kiln and the Smelt and to visit inside the medieval St Michael’s Chapel and the Derby Fort on St Michael’s Isle. A real walk through history!

Leisurely rating. Route follows roads, tracks and well-defined paths. About 5 km and only 10m height gained. Please wear footwear suitable for coastal tracks and footpaths. Bring clothing appropriate to the weather on the day and any food, drink and support equipment(e.g. walking poles, insect repellent, sun cream etc.) which you find useful.
